Tramontina USA has announced plans to expand cookware production capabilities at its Manitowoc, WI, plant to meet growing demand for color and ceramic-coated cookware. The company expects the new production line to begin operation by Spring 2014.
“We are excited about increasing production of our Made in the USA products to include a variety of colors and ceramic-coated cookware. We’ve seen tremendous growth and opportunity both with retailers who want to carry quality Made in the USA products at competitive pricing and with consumers, who more than ever, are wanting to buy domestic-made products,” said Antonio Galafassi, President and CEO of Tramontina USA.
Tramontina USA has manufactured aluminum non-stick cookware at its Manitowoc facility since 2005 and is a major employer in the local area.
By manufacturing and warehousing in the United States, Tramontina can offer lower minimum quantities and greater flexibility in cookware finishes and customization, and it can also ensure compliance with ethical manufacturing standards, the company said. Currently, Tramontina produces 50,000 units per day in its Wisconsin plant.
Mayor Justin Nickels of Manitowoc said, “In the early 2000’s, we saw the demise of Mirro in the city of Manitowoc. Fortunately many companies have filled that void, one of the very successful ones being Tramontina. We are proud to hear of the new production facility line being added to their Manitowoc facility. Tramontina is showing a strong commitment to our local economy and to Made in the USA products.”
Tramontina USA has unveiled the company’s 100th anniversary logo, designed to denote the Tramontina Group’s legacy of quality products since it was founded in 1911.

Lyon cookware works on all cooking surfaces including induction and is oven-safe to 550 degrees Fahrenheit.
The new collection is precision-engineered for a tighter seal between cooking vessel and lid, which is said to keep cooking vapors inside the pot and preserve nutrients.
Available in three colors, sapphire, garnet and onyx, Lyon cookware will be available open stock in a variety of sizes and shapes including various sizes of Dutch ovens, square roasters, and covered sauce pans. Also in the line will be a covered braiser and square grill pan.
